Every small town should have a big clock.
This is ours. A fine edifice don’t you think?
Chiming on the hour and each and every quarter (both during the day and throughout the night) it keeps pace with the passing of time.
Donated in 1912 by Mrs. Sophia Dearden, a local worthy as a gift of love toward the townsfolk.
The clock was made by Mr. C. Court of Grange.
Materials used to construct the tower include local limestone and sandstone from St. Bees on the Cumbrian coast.
