There is so much to do in a small town.
People living in the hustle and bustle of the big city might think that rural life is boring and the slow pace of life means there isn’t much to do.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Look more closely, peer beneath the surface and there is a hive of activity which equals or surpasses anything the city lights can offer. From church life (there are four churches in the town) to clubs, societies and social groups, there is more than enough to keep one busy and occupied.
Churches are not everyone’s cup of tea of course (I must confess my personal belief system goes back further than 2000 years or so!) but they suit some and that is fine.
My interests include walking, history and photography and there are groups aplenty which keep me busy and occupied. Currently I am developing my photography skills (having joined three groups in recent weeks!) and it is my hope that this site will feature my work as the weeks and months go by. With luck readers will notice a gradual improvement in the quality of my images – fingers crossed!
History and photography – the perfect combination, don’t you think?
For now, I’ll leave you with this image of time worn steps in my small town. I’m sure they could tell many tales of the good times and the hard times of days long gone.
